I am obsessed with color and its maximum contrasts. I sleep in green, I walk in blue, I think in yellow, I make love in fuchsia … My mind is saturated.
I like to explore the strong contrast between what others want to see in us and what we really are, what we really know about ourselves. Others have preconceptions about us, and even when we explain our true nature, they continue to impose their perceptions.
My work is inspired by a rich amount of history from indeigenous peoples, Latin American culture and European art traditions such as cubism, to today’s issues with societies and capitalism. For me, the feelings are a way to do my work, I focus on news stories, injustices, diseases and their effects on society
As a mother of three, I enjoy cowork with them so we create together and I permit them to act on my pieces or the way I do my art.
I play with the frivolity of the moment, including excess in details such as hairstyles, shoes, dislodged legs, using the color of the land where I was born, raised and live, Uruguay, South America.
